The Texas Stars are off to a slow start, and coach Willie Desjardins said he believes the struggles could actually help the Dallas Stars’ AHL affiliate down the road.
Desjardins talked today about his decisions to make limited use of top prospects such as Jack Campbell and Austin Smith, as well as to not use Scott Glennie at all in the first five games.
“Each situation is different, but they all go to the fact that you have to do what’s best for each player,’’ Desjardins said. “For some players, it’s best to play. For others, I actually think it hurts them to play if they’re not ready.’’
