It wasn’t a horrible night for the Rochester Americans, but they saw their three game winning streak snapped by the struggling Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tonight in overtime. For the chicks, it was the first win, and first point in the standings. The only other team without a win in the AHL snapped that record tonight, as the Worchester Sharks also won, giving every team in the AHL at least one victory. For the Americans, it does represent a loss, but they still have a four game point streak going.
For the Rochester squad, Kevin Porter, veteran captain of the AHL club scored a goal, and was joined by Evan Rankin, Mark Mancari, and Luke Adam.
None of the streaking Amerks were able to keep things going, save for defensive prospect T.J. Brennan who is making a very strong case to be on the Buffalo Sabres blue line when the NHL resumes play, adding two more assists tonight and being a plus four. Kevin Porter also added an assistant to have a multi-point night.
