Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler waited and waited for a settlement to the NHL labor mess while other players shuffled off to parts overseas in order to play some high-level competitive hockey.

It seems Fowler could wait no more.

Instead of entering his third year in the NHL, the 20-year-old offensive-minded rearguard confirmed to the Register that he signed with Sodertajle of Sweden’s second-level HockeyAllsvenskan league. ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun first reported the news via Twitter from Fowler’s agent, Pat Brisson.
