With the NHL Lockout having the effect that it is having on the league, more players are deciding to head overseas to continue doing the one thing that they love to do the most, that is, play hockey. Renaud Lavoi of RDS in Quebec tweeted yesterday that Philadelphia Flyers‘ defenseman Bruno Gervais will be heading over to Germany to play Division 2 hockey with the Heilbronner Falken.
Heilbronner was founded in 1986. Originally known as Heilbronner EC, they changed their club name a year after the team’s finding in 1987. The Falken were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga as a result of winning the Oberliga championship in 2007.
