Chad Kolarik scored three goals to power the Connecticut Whale past the slumping Norfolk Admirals, 5-2, in an American Hockey League game Saturday night at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.
Norfolk (7-10) never led as it dropped its fifth straight and has lost 10 of 13 after starting the season 4-0. The Admirals got goals from John Kurtz and Emerson Etem.
Kolarik gave Connecticut a 1-0 lead when he put in his own rebound past Admirals goalie Frederik Andersen. Kurtz tied it when he put in a rebound of a Chris Wagner shot past Whale netminder Cameron Talbot.
