San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman Scott Hannan to a one-year contract.

Last season, Hannan played in 33 games for the Sharks and Nashville Predators, posting one assist and 22 penalty minutes. After being acquired by San Jose on April 3 in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, he played in four regular season games with San Jose.

Hannan played in all 11 postseason games with the Sharks, registering four assists, a +1 rating and an average of 17:18 TOI per game. Hannan ranked T-second amongst all Sharks defenseman in points (4) and logged an average of 2:15 per game shorthanded, which also ranked second amongst all Sharks defenseman.
